Contractor crew on job site

Services

Not another employee. Someone who steps in and handles what's holding your business back.

TLH works in the background — on your systems, books, admin, and marketing — so you can stay focused on the work that actually moves the needle.

This is what running a trade business actually looks like.

You're good at your work. That's not the problem. The problem is that as the business grows, so does everything around it — and there's still only one of you.

You're the owner, the estimator, the project manager, and the bookkeeper — all before lunch.

Invoices go out late because you're too busy doing the actual work.

You have no idea what your numbers look like until tax season forces the issue.

Your "system" is a combination of memory, sticky notes, and a spreadsheet you haven't opened in three months.

You know you need to market the business, but you don't have time to figure out where to start.

You've thought about hiring help, but you're not sure what to hand off or how to explain it.

A customizable approach built around your business.

Every business is different. Some need a full back-office overhaul. Some need clean books and nothing else. Some need someone to build the systems and then step back. We scope every engagement to what your business actually needs — not a preset package you have to fit into. You get the support that makes sense for where you are right now, and it can grow as your business does.

Not a full-time hire.

You get the expertise without the overhead — no salary, no benefits, no onboarding a new employee. TLH steps in where you need it and stays out of the way where you don't.

Not a one-size-fits-all package.

We don't sell tiers or bundles. After an initial conversation, we put together a proposal based on what your business actually needs. Most clients work across two or more areas — the combination is where it makes the biggest difference.

Built to run in the background.

You stay in control of your business. We handle the operational and administrative work that supports it — quietly, consistently, and without creating more work for you.

Who we work with.

TLH works with owner-operated service and trade businesses — the kind where the owner is still in the field, still on the phone, and still running everything. If you have a crew but you're still the one holding it all together, you're exactly who we built this for.

What changes when you work with TLH.

Your books are current.

No more scrambling at tax time. No more guessing whether you made money on a job. Your financial records are organized, up to date, and actually useful.

Your operations run on systems, not memory.

Job tracking, estimate pipeline, follow-up, scheduling visibility — we build and maintain the workflows that keep things moving, so nothing falls through the cracks when you're on a job site and not watching your phone.

Your back office doesn't fall behind.

Invoicing, vendor bills, document management, administrative follow-up — the work that piles up gets handled before it becomes a problem.

Your marketing actually generates leads.

A Google Business Profile that's set up right, a website that works, and a simple follow-up system that keeps you in front of past customers. Nothing trendy. Just what works for a local service business.

What we actually do.

Every engagement is built around what your business actually needs — not a package you have to fit into. Here's what we work on.

01

Stop running everything from memory.

Business Systems & Operations

Most growing businesses are running on improvised systems — or no systems at all. We assess how your business currently operates, identify where things are breaking down, and build the processes, tools, and workflows that let you run a tighter operation. You stay responsible for the work and the decisions. We build and maintain the systems around it.

  • CRM selection, setup & customization
  • Customer database organization
  • Lead intake systems & online request forms
  • Estimate intake & pipeline tracking systems
  • Production scheduling workflows & visibility
  • Standard operating procedures for recurring tasks
02

The admin work that never stops piling up.

Back-Office Support

Invoicing, vendor bills, paperwork, administrative follow-up — the stuff that has to get done but keeps getting pushed to the end of the day. We work behind the scenes to keep it moving so it doesn't pile up on you.

  • Invoicing and accounts receivable follow-up
  • Vendor bill management and payment tracking
  • Document organization and digital filing
  • Administrative inbox organization
  • Contract & document administration
  • Subcontractor and supplier coordination
03

Know your numbers before tax season forces it.

Bookkeeping & Financial Administration

You should know whether you made money on a job before the job is six months old. We keep your books current, your records clean, and your financials in a state where you can actually make decisions with them. We're not a CPA or tax firm — we handle the day-to-day financial administration so your accountant has something to work with.

  • Monthly bookkeeping and transaction categorization
  • Bank and credit card reconciliation
  • Job costing and profitability tracking
  • Accounts payable and receivable management
  • Financial reporting and cash flow visibility
  • Year-end prep and accountant coordination
04

Practical lead generation — not trendy social media.

Marketing & Digital Presence

Most businesses get work through referrals and reputation. That's a good foundation — but it's not a system. We help you build a digital presence that works alongside your reputation: a Google profile that shows up, a website that converts, and a follow-up process that keeps past customers coming back.

  • Google Business Profile setup and optimization
  • Website review and improvement
  • Review generation and reputation management
  • Past customer follow-up campaigns
  • Local SEO and search visibility
  • CRM-connected lead tracking

Services are scoped to what your business actually needs. Most clients work with us across two or more areas — the combination is where it makes the biggest difference.

Common questions.

Do you work with businesses outside of Cleveland or Northeast Ohio?

Our primary focus is businesses in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, but we work remotely and can support businesses in other areas depending on the scope of work. Reach out and we'll let you know if we're a good fit.

Do you offer preset packages or fixed pricing?

No. Every engagement is scoped to what your business actually needs. We don't believe in forcing a growing trade business into a one-size-fits-all package. After an initial conversation, we'll put together a proposal based on your specific situation.

Do you do the bookkeeping, or do you just set up the system?

Both, depending on what you need. We can set up your bookkeeping system and hand it off to you, or we can handle the ongoing monthly bookkeeping ourselves. We're not a CPA or tax firm — we handle the day-to-day financial administration so your accountant has clean records to work with.

Will you take over parts of my business I want to keep control of?

No. We work in the background on systems, records, and processes — not on the decisions that are yours to make. You stay in control of your business. We handle the operational and administrative work that supports it.

What types of businesses do you work with?

We work with owner-operated service and trade businesses — concrete, HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, painting, general contracting, cleaning, and similar field-service businesses. If you're running a crew and still holding everything together yourself, we're built for you.
